Who are you beyond the business?

Making room for a sense of self that includes more than being a founder.

When I lost the company, I had to work out who I was beyond the business. For weeks, I struggled to get out of bed. My relationships and finances were under strain, and the identity I had built around work no longer gave me a direction.

I drew on my coaching background and my study with spiritual teachers around the world. I had to sit with what had happened, look inward, and reconnect with parts of myself I had abandoned along the way.

Notice what has been left out.

Being a founder can be an important part of who you are. What else matters to you? What interests, relationships, beliefs or experiences help you feel like yourself?

You may find that some of those parts have been waiting for a gap in the calendar that never arrives.

Let the next chapter be yours.

You do not need a complete answer to what comes next. Start with the qualities you want your life to have. What would make it feel meaningful? What would happiness and fulfillment look like in ordinary days?

Then ask what needs to happen, what needs to be removed, and who you want to become through that process.

Turn reflection into action.

In coaching, those questions lead to a baseline, a direction and a roadmap of practical wins. The answers come from you. I guide the conversation and help you build on the changes you choose.

If the company were not the only measure, what would a good life mean to you?
